Christian businesswoman making waves online

CHRISTIAN businesswoman Carol Stewart has been named as one of LinkedIn’s Top Voices for 2017.

The popular networking platform boasts 21 million users in the UK, and 530 million worldwide.

Carol, made the list due to the high engagement she receives for her blogs about the challenges women face in their professional lives and the unfavourable bias that exists towards female and BAME employees in the work place.

She serves as a life coach to introverted women and has been a Christian for nine years. She attends ARC church in Forest Gate, east London – and it was her faith that inspired her to use LinkedIn to promote her business.

She told The Voice: “About three years ago, I was struggling in my business. One morning while praying and doing my devotional, I was drawn to 2 Kings 4:1-7 about the widow and the oil.

“I believe that God told me I should use what is in my hand to propel my business forward. That thing was writing. I started to use that as my main marketing activity. Since then, my writing and my business have gone from strength to strength, culminating in this recognition.”

Stewart is no stranger to receiving recognition for her work. In January 2015, she was named as one of Britain’s top 50 Business Advisers by Enterprise Nation after fewer than three years of starting her business, and has been a guest speaker at several corporate companies including Royal Bank of Scotland’s women’s network.

Carol aims to continue writing about women’s issues in 2018 and has plans to publish her first book.
