Chris Brown to appear in court over Karrueche Tran

COURT-BOUND: Chris Brown

CHRIS BROWN has officially been served, regarding ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran's permanent restraining order against him.

The ex-girlfriend of Brown was granted permanent legal protection from the Back to Sleep hitmaker in February after she filed court documents accusing Brown of abusing her and threatening to kill her following the end of their four-year relationship.

A hearing in the case was originally set for 29 March, but it was postponed until April, as Brown had not taken receipt of the official paperwork.

The court hearing in April (17) was subsequently rescheduled for the same reason, but process servers have finally caught up with Brown.

According to TMZ, the singer was served whilst celebrating his birthday (May 5) at Grooves nightclub in Houston, Texas. A hearing has now been scheduled for later this month.

Brown previously instructed his lawyer, Mark Geragos, and his co-workers not to accept anything on his behalf, forcing Tran's legal representatives to hire a private team in a bid to track down the singer and personally hand him the documents.

After last month's delay, Geragos insisted Tran's efforts are "doomed to failure", and accused her of making up the domestic violence claims to "enhance" her own profile.

Tran and Brown ended their relationship in 2015, after she discovered he had fathered a child, daughter Royalty during a secret fling.
