BAFTA HOPES: Adam Deacon
ACTOR DEACON has called on his famous friends to help him triumph at this year’s BAFTA awards.
The 28-year-old, who wrote and directed last year’s British comedy Anuvahood, found out he had made the shortlist for the BAFTA Orange Rising Star Award last week for the smash film.
Deacon faces tough competition from My Week With Marilyn star Eddie Redmayne, Bridesmaid's Chris O'Dowd, War Horse star Tom Hiddleston and his Thor co-star Chris Hemsworth, who have all appeared in Hollywood movies.
However, friends including Eastenders’ stars Preya Kalidas and Ricky Norwood as well as chart toppers Tinchy Stryder, Labrinth, Wretch 32, NDubz star, Fazer, have all filmed messages urging fans to vote for actor.

Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole also pledged his support to Deacon, telling fans: ‘He f**kin’ deserves it!’
The winner of the BAFTA Orange Rising Star Award will be announced live at the BAFTA Awards on February 12th. Members of the public can vote for Adam via the BAFTA website (bafta.orange.co.uk) and via phone text (Text DEACON to 88080).
