FASHION DESIGNERS and models from the north west came to the fore on Easter Sunday, as they were celebrated by Simply Unique PR; who hosted their first annual Step Into Fashion catwalk show. A model and spokeswoman from charity Bullies Out addressed attendees, helping to add a definite sense of purpose among the enjoyment.

Simply Unique’s Rosemary Lai said:

“We aim to promote the next generation of models and creatives in the fashion, beauty and model industry.”

Models to grace the catwalk included those who have recently been featured on runways at London Fashion Week as well as those who are aspiring to enter the field.

Liverpool-based designer Tayamika bought her colourful, vibrant African-inspired designs to the event, which were also showcased at Liverpool Fashion Week 2016.

A representative from anti-bullying organisation Bullies Out spoke about her story, sharing personal tales of being bullied and her work with the local community as an ambassador for the charity. Audiences were encouraged by her journey to confidence and the fact that she is signed to a reputable modelling agency in the Wirral.

Lai explained:

“We want to reach any creative who would like the opportunity to showcase as a fashion designer or to build their portfolios and get some experience. We aim to bring the community together to promote the local talent we have in the north west.”
