'Caribbean is open for business'

PICTURED: Sir Vivian Richards

LEGENDARY CRICKETER Sir Vivian Richards told The Voice that the Caribbean region is well and truly open for business after devastating hurricanes earlier this year.

Sir Viv was serving as Tourism Ambassador for Antigua and Barbuda at the World Travel Market at ExCel London.

Following Hurricanes Irma and Maria, economic analysts expressed fears that the region’s tourism industry may have been per- manently damaged. But the West Indies legend said: “There were a lot of folks who felt that we were devastated (by the hurricane). We are still open for business.”

Representing Dominica Carla Armour, of well-being tourism firm Vetivert Inc, said: “It will take years for Dominica to come back to what we even think it looked like but I think as far as business and getting on with life, it looks very promising.
