Body of Ghanaian musician Castro found on a beach?

FEARED DEAD: Remains of a male body may belong to Ghanaian musician Castro

A BODY found washed up on a beach in south Ghana are believed to be those of Ghanaian musician Castro, who disappeared after taking a jet ski out to sea on July 5.

The discovery of the decomposed remains on Sakumono beach near Tema, south Ghana, last Saturday (July 12) has fuelled speculation that they belong to the Ghanaian star and has made headline news around the country even before formal identification has taken place.

A police source has, however, stated that it is unlikely that the body of the “well-built man, measuring some 1.7 meters”, could be that of the musician who went missing alongside reported girlfriend Janet Bandu, a former contender of reality TV show, I’m In Love with Bomaya.

The 32-year-old and a group of friends, said to include football star Asamoah Gyan, are thought to have hired Jet Skis at the Aqua Safari Resort in Ada, when Gyan’s preferred yacht was unavailable.

Castro, real name Theophilus Tagoe, is then believed to have boarded the Jet Ski with Bandu. However, a few hours later the boat was found without the star or the woman, prompting fears the two died.

Upon the news of his disappearance, Ghanaian musician Reggie Rockstone said calls to Castro weren’t answered. ”My fones blowing up bout Castro and I pray this is not true pple! Called him but no pick!,” he tweeted.

The body has been taken to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for possible identification and autopsy.
