OVER AND OUT: Jessica Ennis
TEAM GB golden girl Jessica Ennis-Hill has withdrawn from this weekend's British Championships in Birmingham as she continues to struggle with an ankle injury.
The recently married 27-year-old, who won heptathlon gold at the Olympics in London last year, has yet to compete this season.
There are now genuine fears that the Sheffield-born athlete may miss the upcoming World Athletics Championships, which take place in Moscow from 10-18 August. However, her coach Toni Minichiello remains optimistic she will be fit.
A statement released by British Athletics said: "She is following a very comprehensive rehabilitation programme, working with the British Athletics medical team and her physiotherapist Alison Rose."
