'Black Panther' makes history with 2019 Golden Globe noms

MAKING HISTORY: Black Panther

BLACK PANTHER has made history once again.

The hit movie, directed by Ryan Coogler, has become the first Marvel movie to be nominated for a Golden Globe Award, as it continues to break boundaries in Hollywood.

The high-grossing comic book movie was nominated for three awards including 'Best Picture: Drama' alongside BlacKkKlansman, If Beale Street Could Talk, A Star Is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Black Panther also received a nomination for best original score and best original song for Kendrick Lamar's All the Stars, featuring SZA.

Other notable nominees included the Spike Lee-directed BlacKkKlansman which received a 'Best Actor' nomination for John David Washington and 'Best Supporting Actor' for Adam Driver.

The 2019 Golden Globes will air Sunday, January 6 at 8 pm ET/5 p.m. It will be hosted by Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg.
