HONOURED: Aretha Franklin

BEYONCE, MARIAH Carey, Missy Elliot and many more have publicly shared their tributes, prayers and kind messages to Aretha Franklin, after recent reports revealed that the soul singer is 'gravely ill'.

Queen Bey dedicated her performance with husband, Jay-Z, to the Queen of Soul while performing in Franklin's hometown of Detroit.

The Detroit Free Press reports the moment came early in the show Monday night (Aug 14) at Ford Field with Beyoncé saying, "We love you" and thanking the ailing 76-year-old for her "beautiful music."

Opening the show, DJ Khaled got the crowd excited when he played one of Franklin's biggest hits, Respect.

Other stars who've paid tribute to the Natural Woman songstress include Ciara who tweeted: "Praying for Aretha Franklin and her family right now!", while rapper Missy Elliott added: "My prayers are with Aretha Franklin & her family during this difficult time."

Meanwhile, Mariah Carey wrote, "Praying for the Queen of Soul #ArethaFranklin," and Paula Abdul tweeted, "My love, prayers and warm thoughts are with Aretha Franklin-the Queen of Soul. I'm praying for her and her health. Thank you to all her family and friends who are standing by her and loving her through her illness. I'm holding you all in my heart."

Dancer Paula Abdul and Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda were also among those to declare their love for the star.

Franklin is reportedly receiving hospice care, friends of the singer said Monday, as prayers and well wishes poured in for the Grammy-winning artist.

Evrod Cassimy, a local television journalist for WDIV who also described himself as a friend of the singer, said he spoke with the legend Monday morning and she was "with close friends and family, resting.""I've been speaking with her family members," Cassimy said during a newscast.

"They have not only asked for prayers during this time, but they have also asked for their privacy."
