Beyoncé cuts ties with Philip Green

IVY PARK: Beyoncé launched the clothing brand with Philip Green two years ago

BEYONCÉ HAS cut ties with Topshop boss Philip Green by buying him out of her clothing brand Ivy Park.

The singer launched the brand, whose name comes from that of Beyoncé’s six-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, with Green two years ago.

The news that Beyoncé is now the sole owner of Ivy Park comes just weeks after Green was publicly named as the British businessman at the centre of allegations of sexual harassment and racism.

Green had tried to use an injunction from stopping the media from revealing that he was the man accused by staff of sexual harassment and racial abuse but he was then named in parliament by Lord Peter Hain.

Speaking in the House of Lords las month, Lord Hain said: “I feel it’s my duty under parliamentary privilege to name Philip Green as the individual in question given that the media have been subject to an injunction preventing publication of the full details of this story which is clearly in the public interest.”

Green has “categorically and wholly” denied the allegations made against him.

In the wake of the accusations the Crazy in Love singer’s fans had called on her to distance herself from Green.

In a statement released this week, Ivy Park said: “After discussions of almost a year, Parkwood has acquired 100% of the Ivy Park brand. Topshop - Arcadia will fulfil the existing orders."

Beyoncé and Green had initially owned 50 per cent of the label.

The clothing range is sold in Topshop stores and online.
