INJURED: Bacary Sagna will miss three weeks of action (PA)
ARSENE WENGER will have to make do without the services of full-back Bacary Sagna after the defender injured his hamstring during Arsenal’s 2-0 midweek Champions League win over Napoli.
Despite the injury, Sagna completed the whole game against the Italian.
The France international will now miss Arsenal’s Premier League clash against West Brom this weekend, and other league fixtures with Norwich and Crystal Palace as the Gunners seek to cement their place top of the table.
He is also set to sit out the north London club’s vital Champions League game versus Borussia Dortmund on October 22.
Wenger said: “He will not be fit. He has a hamstring injury and will be out for the weekend and for basically three weeks.
“It is always a blow because he is a very complete defender. He can defend well, he is good in the air, he can attack well as well, and he's a winner-type, so of course for us it is a handicap.”
The French manager said he would use Carl Jenkinson in place of Sagna, and the coach added: “Jenkinson had a good start to the season as well and he is growing as a player. I am sure he will do very well.”
