PROVIDING OPPORTUNITY: Sanderson
OLYMPIC champion Tessa Sanderson has teamed with 1996 Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek to launch a tennis academy in the East End of London.
The Tessa Sanderson Foundation and Academy is actively involved in finding and nurturing new talent in sport with the assistance of elite coaches.
The Richard Krajicek Foundation has been working with young people with their Playground scheme where they create new sport leaders within the community.
Tennis has been one of the sports that Sanderson’s foundation has been trying to get started in the area in a bid to find and nurture talent which can go on to be to bright hopes for the future of tennis in Britain.
Several local schools have been selected to attend the launch on Friday, July 1.
Sanderson said: “Working with Richard Krajicek and his foundation will be the best opportunity anyone could have in the East End of London to become a great tennis player.
“He knows what it takes to get to the top and the youngsters here have an opportunity not to be missed.
“Working under the tuition of coaches selected by Krajicek and his team will be fantastic and a great legacy in moving forward to building the sport in the community under the Tessa Sanderson Foundation and Academy.”
