RAPPORT: Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey share happy times
THE NEW York Times newspaper has embroiled itself in not just one, but two instances of their staff painting Michelle Obama as an 'angry black woman', which she discussed on her televised interview with Oprah Winfrey last night.
New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor made the reference in her book, The Obamas, of which an extract was printed by the publication.
Deleted New York Times Styles section Tweets weighed-in on the stereotype, concluding that the President's wife 'used' to be angry at the very least:
"How FLOTUS shed an angry black woman caricature and evolved into a political powerhouse" (@NYTStyles).
