America's oldest person celebrates 114th birthday

SPECIAL DAY: Jeralean Talley turned 114 today

AMERICA'S OLDEST person celebrated her 114th birthday today.

Jeralean Talley was born in rural Montrose, Georgia, on this day in 1899 and is the world's third oldest validated supercentenarian.

A supercentenarian is a person who has lived to or passed their 110th birthday.

Asked what has kept her alive for so long, she said: "Don't ask me. Ask him.”

She then told local media in Detroit, Michigan: "It is God's will."

Talley lives with her daughter Thelma Holloway, 75, and passes the time watching The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Wheel of Fortune as well as listening to baseball on the radio.

Holloway told the Detroit Free Press her mother is “just glad to be here to see another birthday".
