50 Cent hires private investigators over Chris Lighty death?

FRIENDS: 50 Cent and Chris Lighty

RAPPER 50 Cent has reportedly hired private investigators to look into the death of friend and former manager, Chris Lighty.

The Candy Shop hit-maker, who has allegedly questioned the police ruling that the 44-year-old committed suicide, is said to have been backed by several of the late music executives friends and family.

According to New York's Fox 5, who broke the story, 50 hired the investigators shortly after Lighty's family ordered a second autopsy.

In a recent interview with New York radio host Angie Martinez, 50 said: "Honestly, I can't wrap my head around the idea of him shooting himself."

"I don't have all the information... but I can't believe that. Just from all my interactions with him there was never any indication that that was even possible."

The New York City coroner's office declared the death a suicide by gunshot to the head, however the results of the new autopsy have yet to come in.

It has been reported that before his death Lighty owed a hefty sum of money to the IRS, his wife says that the numbers were false.

"We were not in debt by $5 million," she said, only adding, "Chris had a lot of weight on his shoulders."
