A TEENAGER has been fatally stabbed in Forest Gate, east London.

The victim, believed to be 18 years old, died just before 11.30pm.

Police said his family were still being informed and that formal identification and a post-mortem would be arranged.

There have been no arrests so far but any witnesses are urged to call police on 101.

This comes a day after two other people were stabbed to death within minutes of each other in separate domestic incidents in the capital.

A 26-year-old man was attacked with a knife in Colindale, north London, just before 6pm on Sunday and a woman in her 30s was stabbed to death in Brixton, south London, shortly after 6.30pm.

There have been arrests in both cases.

In a statement, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: "My heart goes out to the friends and family of the teenager who lost his life in Forest Gate last night. I am in close contact with the police and I am reassured that they are doing everything they can to bring those responsible to justice and keep Londoners safe.

"I would appeal to anyone who has any information on this or any other incident, please come forward. You can call Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800555111 or reach the police on 111 or, in an emergency, 999. There is no honour in helping those responsible escape justice.

Every single death from knife crime is an absolute tragedy, and I am determined to rid our city of this dreadful scourge.

Extra resources for the police from City Hall are already being used for more enforcement work and perpetrators of violent crime are being targeted. We are also relentlessly focusing on prevention - funding services for young people which give them a path away from crime."
